Gather with your family and friends at Camp!
Otyokwa is a lovingly preserved set of 1930's Lakeside Cabins featuring 5 private Sleeping Cabins, a Kitchen Cabin, and 2-Bathroom Bathhouse.
Plunge into the water after warming in the lakeside sauna, enjoy lake breezes while sitting around the fire pit, swim in the sandy shallows, or paddle in one of our complimentary canoes.
Generously accommodating 27 guests in the Cabins, with additional Farmhouse & Houseboat accommodations available for larger parties. This historic Maine Camp is the perfect location for a uniquely private gathering, reunion, or vacation. Located in the Mid Coast town of Bremen, it sits on 40+ acres of private land on Lake Pemaquid, with 2100 feet of westward-facing, freshwater shoreline.
Arriving at Otyokwa, you'll travel down our private road through a flowering meadow towards the lake. As you descend, all sounds from the road disappear. The Lakeside Camp includes 5 private Sleeping Cabins, a well-equipped Kitchen Cabin, and a 2-bathroom Bathhouse - all separate buildings and offering complete privacy with large gathering areas outside near the lake.
The Cabins are lightly and thoughtfully updated with new mattresses, fresh linens, and many pictures of Otyokwa over the years.
The Kitchen Cabin, with a refrigerator, stove, farm sink, and service for 30+, is perfect for morning coffee or indoor meal gatherings.
The Bathhouse has two private bathrooms, with a toilet, sink and shower in each, as well as two outdoor showers - the ultimate in nature bathing!
Set back from the Lakeside is the Rec Hall with The NOOK Apartment. The Rec Hall is the center of indoor gathering at Otyokwa - a great spot to play games, work on crafts, read books, or listen to vinyl or stream on our stereo. And a rainy-day haven for kids and adults alike.
The NOOK Apartment features a kitchenette, an indoor composting toilet, and a cozy Queen bed in a nook enclosure.
The outdoor possibilities in the area are endless. Enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing, or discover nearby islands on this 7-mile body of water. Our lakeside sauna is self-catering and available anytime during your stay. Just a few steps away, plunge into the cool lake ... and repeat!
Provided with your stay:
- All linens + towels
- Firewood
- BBQ Grill propane
- Kayaks, Canoes, SUPs (+lifejackets and paddles)
- Unlimited Sauna (self-catering, after host instruction)
- Unlimited Ice from commercial Ice machine

All running water at Otyokwa is potable and there is hot water :)
We are located 15 minutes from the town of Damariscotta, with its many restaurants, shops, and theater; though the camp feels secluded, it is still quite close to conveniences. The Camp is only 2 miles away from the ocean so you and your group can take advantage of local charters and enjoy the amazing sights of Muscongus Bay on saltwater excursions and experience a true working waterfront in Bremen. World-class seafood and oyster farms in Damariscotta and the rest of the spectacular Pemaquid Peninsula make for incredible day trips. The multitude of nearby trails and natural features showcase Maine’s natural beauty.
Guests have private access to all areas in and around the lakeside cabins - firepit and picnic tables, swim beach and swim float, sauna, and bathhouse. Additionally, the Rec Hall has an apartment, lovingly called The NOOK, where two more guests can sleep privately with an indoor bathroom (composting toilet) and outdoor shower.
We offer additional vacation accommodations on-site at our Farmhouse at the entrance of the property (~1/4 mile from the cabins) and aboard our Houseboats that float offshore and out of direct view of the cabins. These additional rental options are available separately or in combination with an Otyokwa cabin reservation. If you choose to reserve just the cabins, the sizeable shoreline allows for a great deal of privacy, but there may be other guests floating nearby on the houseboats. The property is extensive and we do our best to maintain the private and independent nature of your stay, but other guests may be sharing your extended space and we may be turning over the houseboats at a separate dock that is partially visible from the cabins.
Our on-site host, Rheanna, is always available if you need anything during your stay, but will make sure you have the privacy you need to enjoy your time at Otyokwa.
Lake Pemaquid lies only 2 miles from saltwater, the Medomak River, and Muscongus Bay. The towns of Damariscotta, Round Pond, and Bristol on the Pemaquid peninsula are the jewels of mid-coast Maine and popular destinations unto themselves. As beautiful as the camp is, your possibilities of saltwater activities, day trips, hikes, and wildlife excursions are almost limitless. Secure parking is available on site.
You will be staying in Maine and enjoying an indoor/outdoor living environment. This environment includes bugs. While we do our best with insect deterrents (bug spray, screens, mosquito traps), and our brisk onshore breeze helps keeps bugs down as well, there will be bugs sharing your space (mostly gnats and flies). Most guests find that they are a minor nuisance, but please consider your personal tolerance before booking.
Depending on your mobile carrier, you *may* not have strong data coverage (this is not common, but possible). WiFi is NOT OFFERED in the Cabin area. But that's okay. The live show is much better :) And if you NEED WiFi, the Farmhouse has high-speed internet and may be added to your reservation if available.
The cabins represent a rustic, Maine camp experience, with minimal climate control. We have fans, space heaters, and amazing linens and blankets, but if you're sensitive to extreme-ish temps, please plan your clothing and bedding accordingly. And not much beats a sleeping bag to keep you cozy at night.
Two private bathrooms, with hot water, flushing toilets, showers, and sinks are available in the Bathhouse along with two outdoor showers. In addition, there is a private bathroom with composting toilet in the Rec Hall along with another outdoor shower a few feet outside along the tree line. All running water is potable at Camp. And there is hot water!
Please respect our 11am check-out time - due to our tight turnaround time and housekeeper scheduling, if your guest party remains on-site beyond 11:20 on the day of your checkout, you will be charged an additional $100 fee for our cleaners' delay.
